Looking for a QuickBooks alternative?

The free, Australian, AI-first alternative to QuickBooks

QuickBooks is used by businesses in many countries. AccountsAndGo is built for Australian ones: GST and BAS preparation from your ledger, PAYG withholding to the ATO's own tables, and your data stored in Sydney, where its AI features run too.

Why Australian businesses are switching their bookkeeping

A genuinely free core

A free-forever tier covers the bookkeeping basics; paid plans start at just $19/month and scale by seats — not a subscription just to get started.

An AI accountant, built in

Max categorises transactions, reconciles accounts, prepares your BAS and forecasts 13 weeks of cash flow — inside the product, not a bolt-on.

Your data stays in Australia

Everything is stored in Google Cloud's Sydney region, and AI features run in-region. Australian data sovereignty by design.

Built for multi-entity groups

Group cash-flow roll-up and consolidation across all your entities in one view — not one login per company.

When QuickBooks may suit you better

  • QuickBooks is made by Intuit and used by more than 7 million customers worldwide, which matters if you trade across several countries on one system. Source
  • QuickBooks connects with hundreds of integrations through its own app store. Source
  • Live bank feeds and direct ATO lodgement (BAS and STP) are still in development at AccountsAndGo. Today you import bank transactions by CSV and prepare BAS ready to lodge. If you need those two things live right now, an established product may suit you better for the moment.

Moving from QuickBooks

There is no direct QuickBooks import yet. Export your bank transactions and contacts as CSV files and import them, and start from the Australian chart of accounts AccountsAndGo creates.

QuickBooks and AccountsAndGo: common questions

Where is my data stored with AccountsAndGo?
In Google Cloud's Sydney region, and the AI features run in the same region, so the data they read does not leave Australia to be analysed.
Can I move from QuickBooks to AccountsAndGo?
Yes, by CSV today: bank transactions and contacts import directly. A one-step QuickBooks import is not available yet.
Does AccountsAndGo handle GST and BAS?
Yes. GST is tracked per line with Australian tax codes, and BAS figures are calculated from your ledger rather than re-keyed. Lodging directly with the ATO is in development; today you prepare the BAS ready to lodge.
